My Motivation
I've been procrastinating until today because I couldn't find the words that truly reflect you, words that are positive and filled with hope...
I'll cycle this tour for you, Safia, and to show your parents, Nicolas and Isabelle, and your sisters, Alexane and Maélie, that we are there to support them. For you and for all the children who have faced or are relentlessly fighting cancer with unwavering courage. For all those who continue to move forward, carrying the weight of illness or grief.
Undoubtedly, losing a child remains an unhealable wound, one that never closes. Although family and friends are there and present, life goes on, it's inevitable, but the emptiness never leaves the hearts of the immediate family... It's always there, preventing them from truly living and experiencing what complete happiness is. Isabelle, Nicolas, Maélie, and Alexane feel this absence with every moment that should have been "the best day of your life," shared with you.
During these two days, from July 9th to 10th, I will cycle 275 kilometers between Sherbrooke and Boucherville as part of the CIBC Charles Bruneau Tour. 275 kilometers thinking of you, of your family, who inspire me so deeply. Alongside Nicolas, who, for another year, will get on his bike so that other children and families may be spared this unimaginable ordeal, and accompanied by Isabelle, who will support our team with immeasurable generosity, always ready to help. Together, we choose to move forward so that you, Safia, can continue to make a difference from wherever you are. And you certainly do, believe me.
Cycling is a small gesture, my way of telling you, Safia, that you still matter so much, that you always will, and that you continue to inspire me, to make me a better person.
For you, radiant Safia, for all of you, Isabelle, Nicolas, Alexane, and Maélie, let us be committed individuals in a more altruistic world.
