Profile and story
Liam, 8, undergoing treatment for retinoblastoma
At eight years old, Liam has a personality all his own. According to his parents, he is both calm and endlessly energetic. Always on the move, he loves going to the park, riding his bike, skating, and playing soccer and even squash. At home, he is also a formidable UNO® player.
Liam receives treatment at the Charles-Bruneau Cancer Centre at CHU Sainte-Justine, where he visits once a month. In addition to his medical care, he benefits from psychological support to help him navigate the challenges of everyday life. If he could have any superpower, he would choose the ability to fly like a bird without hesitation.
Liam is deeply attached to the people he loves. For him, a perfect day is simply one spent with his grandparents. Creative by nature, he is especially proud of a birthday gift he built for his father entirely out of LEGO® bricks.
His dream right now is to have a watch. Looking further ahead, he hopes to become a mechanic.
For Liam’s loved ones, the Fondation Charles-Bruneau feels like an extended family that has supported them every step of the way. Grateful for the solidarity surrounding the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau, they wanted to share this message with the cyclists and supporters taking part: “A heartfelt thank you for your commitment and for the support you provide to children with cancer and their families. Because of people like you, children have the opportunity to look toward the future with confidence.”
