Profile and story
Coralie, 11, in remission from acute lymphoblastic leukemia
At 11 years old, Coralie is a bright, curious and energetic young girl. Originally from Beloeil, she loves spending time outdoors with her friends, hitting the ski slopes on a sunny day and, above all, playing hockey. It comes as no surprise that she greatly admires hockey player Marie-Philip Poulin, whom she considers a true inspiration.
Under the care of Dr. Tran at the Charles-Bruneau Cancer Centre at CHU Sainte-Justine, Coralie also participated in the Every Child research project. As part of the study, additional bone marrow samples were collected at the time of her diagnosis, helping researchers better understand childhood cancer.
Today, Coralie is doing very well and has reached an important milestone. “My follow-up appointments are becoming less frequent, and I now only visit CHU Sainte-Justine every six months to make sure the leukemia hasn’t returned,” she explains.
Very close to her family, Coralie considers overcoming cancer to be one of her greatest accomplishments.
The young girl dreams of becoming a teacher one day and already possesses remarkable wisdom. If she could have any superpower, it would be the ability to bring people together and help resolve conflicts. Organized and a natural team player, she loves nothing more than sharing a good laugh.
For Coralie and her loved ones, the Fondation Charles-Bruneau represents hope. Grateful for the dedication of everyone taking part in the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau, she wanted to share this message: “Thank you for your commitment to this important cause. Every dollar raised helps bring hope to families affected by pediatric cancer. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
