The event "Vol d’un survivant à l’autre" was created in 2011 by Hugo Desrochers. The purpose of this event is to raise funds for young children at the CHU de Québec who are fighting cancer. Hugo Desrochers is an aircraft pilot for Air Canada and himself fought leukemia at the age of 29.
In the form of a day of seaplane flights from Lake Saint-Augustin, the event supported by an army of volunteers allows about thirty children to fly over the beautiful Quebec City under the autumn colors, thus allowing them to forget, for a few moments, illness and treatments.
Since 2018, the event has partnered with the Charles-Bruneau Foundation, an organization whose mission is to provide all children with cancer with the best chances of recovery by financing research and supporting the development of projects dedicated to pediatric hemato-oncology.
The cumulative of the last three editions of the event has also raised more than $55,000 for the Charles-Bruneau Foundation.
