Luc Daigle has been participating in the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau for thirteen years, a commitment that reflects his passion and dedication to this noble cause. Having lost his father to cancer in 2007, Luc was looking for a meaningful way to get involved. In 2011, Bruno Lambert asked him to represent the merchants for the new Sherbrooke route, an opportunity he immediately seized thanks to his passion for cycling.
What motivates Luc to participate every year is the feeling of making a real difference for children with cancer. The unwavering support of his generous donors gives him the energy to keep going. He is proud to contribute to the mission of the Charles-Bruneau Foundation, having witnessed the advances in research and the smiles on the children's faces.
Luc is able to convince his colleagues thanks to his deep conviction for this cause. An avid cyclist and field hockey player, he sees preparing for the Tour as a pleasure, combining his sporting passions with a cause close to his heart.
He benefits from a solid network of contacts and volunteer customers who help him achieve his fundraising goals each year. As an IGA merchant, Luc has supported Bruno Lambert in making the Charles-Bruneau Foundation a flagship cause within Sobeys, and feeling that his employer supports him is an additional source of motivation.
Participating in the Tour has strengthened his relationships with his colleagues and all the participants, volunteers and children he comes into contact with, making him a better person. Luc particularly remembers his first participation, when Jean-Paul, a professional cook in their peloton, never ceased to make them laugh with his anecdotes.
To conclude, Luc has a message for the cyclists, the children and their families: "Participation in the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau is the reward for hard work and fundraising. Have fun, enjoy the strength of the group and let's work together to make a difference."
Luc Daigle shows that with dedication and passion, it's possible to make a real difference in the fight against cancer.
