The 27th edition of the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau came to a close this afternoon, as the 770 cyclists crossed the finish line in Boucherville. Pedaling on one of 11 circuits, the cyclists covered more than 2,345 kilometers in support of the cause, raising a net total of $3,550,000. Our goal has been surpassed!

The 2023 edition of the event, which brought together a record 1,125 participants, will enable the Charles-Bruneau Foundation to pursue its mission of offering children with cancer the best chances of recovery by funding research and developing projects in pediatric hemato-oncology. Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau, from near and far. Thanks to the involvement of all participants, volunteers and partners, the 27th edition was a success, enabling the Foundation to affirm once again its commitment to working together so that all children with cancer can be cured and live healthy lives.

A warm theme

This year, the heat had an impact on many, as cyclists had to battle extreme temperatures, feeling over 40 degrees in the humidity. The entire team mobilized to ensure that all cyclists were adequately hydrated, and many had fun, water guns in hand, to keep the groups cool. The extra challenge brought an even greater sense of accomplishment, and it was with smiles on their faces that the cyclists crossed the finish line.

Together towards a cancer-free childhood!

For this 27th edition of the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau, inspiring young ambassadors shared their stories and embodied the values of solidarity and resilience to encourage participants to pedal for the cause. The Foundation congratulates and thanks the 51 children who took part in the twinning of hearts, as well as the six child heroes who got involved this year:

  • Victoria Paquin, 14 - heroine of the 4-day ride ;
  • Malik Fontaine, age 5 - hero of the Quebec City route;
  • Charles Leduc, 10 - hero of the Sherbrooke route;
  • Alyah Lavoie, age 8 - hero of the Gatineau route;
  • Olivia Grenier, age 6 - heroine of the Découverte route;
  • Mia Lafrenière, 10 - hero of the distance course.
