Where do the donations go?
It was with great pride and gratitude that the Charles-Bruneau Foundation announced in September 2025 a historic five-year ($50 million) commitment (2025-2030) to fight pediatric cancer in Quebec.
This commitment, the Foundation's largest to date, will take the form of a visionary approach that leverages the collaboration and complementary strengths of Quebec's four university hospitals specializing in pediatric hematology-oncology. By pooling their expertise, these institutions are aligning their efforts and hopes to offer every child a real chance at recovery.
This announcement marks a milestone for the Charles-Bruneau Foundation, not only because of the size of the donation, but also because Quebec's four pediatric oncology centers will leverage their respective expertise and that of their research teams to fight childhood cancer in all its phases: from prevention and diagnosis to treatment and survival.
The projects funded by the Charles-Bruneau Foundation focus on three priorities:
- Healing for all;
- Reducing the long-term effects;
- Social integration.
Specifically, donations are used to:
- Fund research on childhood cancers;
- Promote innovation by funding emerging initiatives, with the goal that the government will subsequently institutionalize those that have proven their effectiveness and legitimacy;
- Promote regional equity in access to the best care and services;
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and training the next generation of pediatric hematology-oncology researchers;
- Support collaboration and consultation among a diverse range of stakeholders.
The Foundation's vision and leadership enable pediatric hematology-oncology researchers from the province's four institutions to join forces in synergy, for the greater benefit of thousands of children and their families in Quebec.
It is your generosity and support that make such a substantial commitment possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
