Marie-Soleil Quesnel

Profile and story

Marie-Soleil was diagnosed with astrocytoma in July 1995, at the age of 9 months. She underwent several rounds of treatment as well as surgical procedures at the CHU Ste-Justine, which lasted until she was 18 years old.

Marie, as she is nicknamed, is a go-getter. She is determined and attentive, and she always thinks of others first.
Marie, a dog lover, would eventually like to work with animals, while continuing to volunteer with sick children.
Her fondest memory is of the time when she brought a puppy home.
Her biggest wish is to be completely healthy, and she wishes the same for her family.

Marie-Soleil dreams of going on safari in Africa.
Today, she lives with multiple side-effects and minor health concerns, but she remains hopeful.

Message from Marie-Soleil:
I want to offer my sincere thanks to all those who take part in this incredible event, either directly or indirectly. Because of you, we continue to witness advances in research and the emergence of new treatments. You give us hope that one day, all children will be cured of this dreaded disease.
