Profile and story
Laurence was diagnosed with a Wilm’s tumour in January 2007 and treated at the CHU Ste-Justine. Today, the young woman is in remission.
Described as determined, optimistic and ambitious, Laurence likes all the subjects on the school curriculum, and this year she will complete her Secondary V.
Lolo, as she is nicknamed, cites gymnastics and travel among her interests.
Her greatest wish? To make COVID disappear forever!
Laurence has annual follow-up appointments at the Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau. This year will mark her final appointment at the Centre, given that she will turn 18. It saddens her to go, because the people at the Centre have become like a second family to her.
Message from Laurence:
I’d like to thank all those who play a part in this event, either directly or indirectly. Thanks to you, other children like me will be able to receive treatment and be cured of this terrible disease. And the funds raised will help advance research so that one day ALL children can be saved from this disease.
