Arianne

Arianne Martineau

Profile and story

The disease entered Arianne's life at the dawn of her 16th birthday in April 2020. Since she was very young, she had been playing competitive sports and was in good health. During winter 2020, she began to experience severe knee pain, fatigue and recurring headaches. Within a short period of time, Arianne's life and that of her family was turned upside down as they learned that Arianne had acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Despite the complications of treatment, Arianne remained optimistic. She even launched a fundraising campaign for the Charles-Bruneau Foundation as part of her end-of-year project in Secondary 5. The result exceeded all expectations; more than $22,000 was donated by the young girl to help other young people like her. Arianne completed her 2022 treatment and has since been in remission.

This year, Arianne will take part in the Tour as a cyclist alongside her father on the Quebec City trek.
